Strategy
- We will focus on overcoming the barriers to embracing radical new ways of thinking and organising and enabling spread of innovations across health care providers;
- We are committed to reach out beyond organisational boundaries and across sectors, to other parts of the NHS, other areas of public service, businesses and third sector organisations to gain the benefit of having access to fresh perspectives, specialist expertise, greater operational effectiveness, cross-fertilisation of ideas, higher profile and pooled resources;
- We will work to identify, develop, attract funding, deliver and evaluate innovations that support the safer delivery of mental health care. Our projects will be grounded in good working practices drawn from the Research Governance Framework, namely, they will be done ethically and utilising robust research methodologies;
- We will work to promptly adopt and deliver the benefits of the innovation to people receiving mental health care in the quickest possible time;
- We will, through using user-centered design processes ensure that there is openness and transparency and that adopted innovations will be relevant to people receiving mental health care;
- We will reduce the environmental impact and carbon use through the identification and adoption of innovative practice, process and products;
- Finally, our overriding strategic direction will continue to be recovery focused and recovery orientated.
